Cut you in I just cut you out…

good lord. today pretty much sucked. i mean, nothing bad happened or anything like that, it just went hella slow. good to be home and chillin.

been on a ZZ Top kick the past few days. i never used to like em then i queens of the stone age covered “precious and grace” from the Tres Hombres album and ever since then i been getting more and more into em. That’s a normal thing for me though cause i work backwards when it comes to music. Take the bands i love and find out where they got their influences from and keep going farther and farther back.

ohh yeah, got a new tattoo the other day. hopefully i’ll get more once i get back from my vacation. already know what i want and where it’s going. Mike reminded me that i’m about 2 years late on having both arms done. got to get caught up so i can start my chest.

show last night was fun. the last band didn’t even bother to show up or call. i fucking HATE when bands do that. it’s not hard to pick up the phone and call the bar and say you can’t make it. we could of played longer had we known that the band wouldn’t be there. Ohh well… October 27th can’t get here quick enough.

to all the women out there. You gals are crazy. Can’t figure you out even if my life depended on it. and you say guys are difficult to work with. hah.

don’t i wish.

so I’m sitting here after a long week at work. drinking a Newcastle or 3 and listening to the Reverend Horton Heat. It’s hard to believe how much these guys kick ass, how much i wish i could play a guitar like Jim Heath and how great their live show is. What’s even harder to believe is that i work for them, I’m friends with em, and I’ve gotten to play a show with them. Never in my wildest dreams, no pun intended, would i believe the opportunity i have been given and the effect on my life it has had.

It’s crazy emailing back and forth and talking on the phone with jim. I mean, he’s just a cool rocker guy from Texas who just happens to be one of the most under rated guitar players ever. It’s like you get to work for one of your idols and then become friends with em. Not too many people get a chance to do that.

These guys have taught me a lot about playing, drinking and having a good time. Back in high school i used to tell everyone about the reverend and would wear my “church lady” shirt to school. Everyone made fun of me for listening to em. The summer i graduated from school the Rev was on the warped tour. I go by their booth after they played and Jim’s sitting there. I had never met him before but had seen em a bunch of times already. As soon as i walk up like 3 people from school standing there and we say hey. one of em turns to jim and says “this guy is the best. he talked about you guys all the time, wore your shirts and was the only one to put greaser in his hair. we used to make fun of em but after seeing you guys today i know what he was talking about.” jim turns to me and says “well thank you for your support and telling everyone about us.” i was floored.

now look where i am. friends with the guy.

i guess this whole blog is saying life is crazy. you never know where you will end up or who you’ll meet. I know i’ve got things going great. I got good friends, great family and fuck…. i’m just happy to be where i am and am thankful for all the good things i have been graced with. know what i mean?
