Tasty wine…

Wine

Sitting here watching a show about the life of Barack Obama on MSNBC and drinking wine. Yeah, i know… I live such a high class lifestyle. The wine we’re drinking is King Fish California merlot. I’ve had a bunch of wine over the years and base my opinion on what to buy by what the label looks like. I don’t get all high nosed wine snob when it comes to buying. Better the label probably better the wine right?? Not always the case for us winos. Because of this we’ve always talked about writing down the name of wines we like so we can buy em again, but we always forget. So here’s the first. This wine is really smooth and is pretty tasty. I’m not going to get all deep and poetic about how i feel about these wines. I’m just gonna say it’s good. haha Jordan and i like it, Elvia is not so sure. We’ll have to come back to this wine again for sure too see how it holds up.

DISNEYLAND!!!

POTC This past Wednesday I went to Disneyland with a few people from work. Kevin, Kristin, Ana, Jeremy, Skippy and Paige all went up to party for Ana’s birthday. Kevin, Kristin, Ana, Jeremy and I all drove up together. We stopped at the Original Pancake House on the way up cause Ana had to get her bacon pancakes. That’s right, bacon pancakes. What’s wrong with people. You don’t put bacon in pancakes. After i got us lost on the way there we stuffed our faces and onward to Disneyland we went. Right now they are having a 2fer for Southern California residence. You pay the price of one park but get to go to Disneyland and California Adventure. Sweet deal huh? So when we got into the park Skippy and Paige met up with us and surprised Ana cause she didn’t think they would get to go.

I normally start my trip to Disneyland with Pirates cause it’s tradition for me to go on POTC, Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones then Thunder Mountain. That is almost all the “E” ticket rides all in one area and you can kinda relax the rest of the day and take your time. This time we started with Space Mountain which was rad. The day was cloudy and cold so all the waits were no more than maybe 20 minutes. I think we rode Space Mountain 5 times that day, POTC 2 times and the rest a few times. All in all the day was pretty epic and even with the big group of people we had no one ever got bummed out. Disneyland is tough to do with big groups cause not everyone wants to go on the same ride and people start getting attitudes and such, but this time we all had a blast. I guess it helps when you know you can get on everything in one day.

I still need to get a new Annual Pass so i can go to the parks any time i want to. It’s nice to stop in for lunch on your way to LA.

I feel ripped off…

Fortune Cookie

I have to say the fortunes in fortune cookies have gotten weaker and weaker. The one i got today said “Your Fortune Is As Sweet As A Cookie”. What the hell, that isn’t a fortune. And you’re referencing the cookie in which the fortune just came out of. I feel that’s a waste of a fortune and i’m owed one. They might as well call them statement cookies cause i don’t think I’ve gotten a fortune out of one in about 10 years. Don’t get me wrong, i still love the cookie part of the deal but why should we still call them fortune cookies. It would be like calling a peanut butter cookie if it didn’t have any peanut butter in it. Let me know if you have the same problem as I’ve been having.

One of the best albums of ALL time

Badmotorfinger SOUNDGARDEN‘s Badmotorfinger

In my opinion this is one of the best albums of all time. Not just the 90′s, but ALL TIME! The change in sound and writing from Louder Than Love to Badmotorfinger is huge. Some folks might say that Soundgarden only got big cause of Nirvana or that they are just a bro-band, but they were one of the best bands of my generation. I was lucky enough to see them live twice and each time they were just as good if not better than they were on record. There are a bunch of bands that are great on record but suck live. I can’t say the same goes for any of Cornell’s post-Soundgarden projects however. From start to finish Badmotorfinger is a solid album. From the amazing drum work by Matt Cameron on “Jesus Christ Pose” to the demented into to “Searching With My Good Eye Closed” they keep driving. I wish bands today would make such solid albums as this one. If you haven’t listened to it in a while put it on and turn up the volume.

Here’s a video from 92:
