By now people know who the Eagles Of Death Metal are, but when this album came out not too many folks did. The name of the band alone made people stop and think especially when they heard the music. It sounds nothing like the Eagles or death metal. It’s booty shakin’ rock n’ roll with a little southern blues touch that is written and performed for “the ladies” as continually stated by singer Jesse Huges when interviewed. On this album the band was only a 2 piece with Jesse “The Devil” Hughes doing vocals and guitar and Josh “Baby Duck” Homme (Queens Of The Stone Age) on drums and backing vocals. In my opinion this is one of the best records to have come out this decade. It’s simple, it’s rocking and sure enough it gets the ladies shakin’ what their momma gave em. It’s funny cause this album too WAY too long to see the light of day. There was a release date announced and then it went back to TBA. Then a new date was released and then TBA again. Got to the point you never thought this album would see the light of day. Not exactly sure why this happened, but I’m sure as hell glad it came out.
