Best Disneyland promo video of all time. ALL TIME!

This little girl know what the best side of the force is.
So it’s been a while since I last updated. Been a bit busy with the site I’m now working on. You can see a sneak peek in the image i posted. So far everything is on track to meet the launch this Friday. We had the site pretty much done when I did my last update, but never had a launch date. We also didn’t really have an idea how we were going to market this site or anything like that. It was going to be done how we normally do things in the world of Indie Record Stores, from the store level out. This would have meant it would of taken a little while to get it off the ground, but it still would of done pretty well if you ask me. A few weeks back we signed on this PR guy named Chris Parker and he went through and created an entire brand for not just the site, but Indie Record Stores as a whole. We had to completely re-dress the site in about a month but we got it done and now I can’t wait to launch this sucker. I can’t wait to see the response to the new design and new branding of the site.
In non-work related stuff, I’ve been busy, but not in the work sort of way. I went to Vegas for the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender. That was pretty out of control with a bunch of “doucheabilly” folks getting all drunk and crazy in Vegas. Just how I like it. This all went down at the Orleans, but I stayed at the Tropicana. Was nice to get away from the chaos at the end of the night, but did kinda suck having to get a cab all the time. The only draw back of the trip was being in Vegas for 4 days. Anything more than 2 is too much in my opinion. The best part of the trip was my buddy Megan drove out Saturday morning and we ran around Vegas till 6 Sunday morning. Got 3 hours of sleep and i ditched out on my flight home and drove with her back. That made the entire weekend. Ohh shit, i forgot about the tiki bar. Frankie’s Tiki Room is the best. I’m going there every time I go to Vegas and so should you.
Went to LA for Geri’s birthday and what an awesome time we had. Jase and Geri can down for a Belgian Beer Fest at Pizza Port in Carlsbad which was fargin awesome. Was such a great weekend all around. They then came back down for a Thee Corsairs show. That’s right, we played a show after a year of not doing anything. We opened for The Head Cat which features Lemmy from Motorhead and Slim Jim Phantom of the Stray Cats. Another amazing time with the Rex’s. This weekend we meet up with them again for a weekend at the Disneyland Resort for Jordan’s birthday. We’re gonna rock DCA on Saturday and then Disneyland on Sunday. I already know it’s going to be a crazy/fun weekend cause of the folks that are gonna be there.
Ok, i should get back to working on the site. Only got a few more days till launch.

So I’ve not taken the train for a few weeks now so I guess I’ll have to change these to my weekly gym update. I started going to 24 Hour fitness with Sergio, Aaron, and their buddy Mark to get in shape so I can start playing hockey again. The first few days were a bit tough cause it’s been so damn long since I have done any sort of physical activity. After a week of going I had to miss a few days which sucked.
The reason for missing the gym didn’t suck though. The Murder City Devils went on tour after not doing so for like 8 years or something like that. So a bunch of us from San Diego went up and saw them in Pomona at the Glass House. Even though it had been a while since they had played they still ripped it up big time. I have no idea what it is they have, but they have it. So many of my favorite bands had it, but lost it. Maybe the time off was good for them? Who knows but they kicked ass. I was bummed I was going to miss their 2 shows in LA, but then Aaron decided he didn’t want to go to the first of two LA shows so I bought his ticket off em. I thought the first show was good but damn, the LA show was amazing. So much energy from the crowd. Was so glad I got to go see them not once but twice.
Next day I went to Disneyland with my friend Ana cause it was her birthday and she got in for free. I got an annual pass so it was pretty much free for me as well. It’s great going there and not having to worry about getting on all the rides and everything. I’m glad I got my annual pass again cause I get to go whenever and it’s gonna be a chill day. I like those. After Disneyland Ana and I went up to LA for day 3 of MCD. I got to go to that show for fee cause a buddy of mine hooked me up so I felt obligated to buy a shirt even though I had already got a shirt at the first show and hoodie at the second one.
Next week I go to Nashville for a work conference. The hotel better have a gym so I can ride the bike every day for a little while. I like the gym cause I get to hang out with friends while going through the workout. Much better than doing it all on your own. Keeps each other motivated.
Have you seen the show Biggest Tool on tv? It’s pretty funny that there is a show about girls that have tools for boyfriends and that they have to tell em they are a tool by bringing them on a tv show. Haha. Fargin tools.
I’m extremely tired right now cause I went and saw 3 Mile Pilot last night at the Casbah. If there was one band from back in the early 90s that I never saw but always wanted to I was them. When I heard they were playing at the Touch & Go party out in Chicago I was bummed I couldn’t go. Then the Casbah had their 20th anniversary and sure enough 3MP was on the list of band to play. What made one of the show better than the others is that Physics was also playing. I have no idea the last time I saw them, but I for sure wanted to see em again. Didn’t get home till super late and now
I’m on the train to work. It’s gonna be an early night for me tonight that’s for sure. Fuck, I got gnarley heartburn from the La Posta rolled tacos at 2 in the morning. Got to stop doing that.
Last week I went to Disneyland with my friends Juan and Danielle who were on their “honeymoon” and by that I mean they were supposed to be but got sent out of Fiji cause of bad weather. Rather than go back to Minneapolis where it was -20 and covered in snow, they came to SoCal to visit with family and friends. When Danielle comes out to visit we have to go to disneyland and that’s exactly what we did. I got my annual pass again cause I could and cause I wanna go back as often as I can this year.
On Saturday I’m getting tattooed again. Have no clue what I’m getting though. My friend Drew needed some people to practice on so I signed up. Told her I wanted to get what ever was more challanging to her as she’s got to practice and I got enough skin open for her to work on. I’ll post a picture some time next week while I’m on the train again.
So this has been a crazy week. Got an iPhone and spent the week setting everythin up so I can be totally mobile. Not sure if that’s a good thing though. Right now I’m on the train to work updating my blog and I find that completely insane. Who would have thought even a few years ago that this would even be capable?
It been kinda hard getting used to the new schedule with work. I’m now waking up at 6:30 in the morning so I can take the train where as before I soul get up at like 10 or so. I think I’m slowly getting used to it but it’s still hard to live the “rock star” lifestyle when you got to be up so early. This week we got the site up and ready at it’s final location. Once we get through the testing part of it I’ll post the link so you can check it out as I hope it’s the new place you will buy your downloads from rather than iTunes.
Yesterday I went to Disneyland with my friends Danielle and Juan. It was a pretty chill day and we went on pretty much every ride in only a few hours. I also got my annual pass again cause they now offer payment plans. I got the deluxe pass which let’s me go 315 days out of the year and I added parking so I have to pay like $20 a month. Pretty sweet if you ask me. If any of you reading this have a pass and want to go let me know and we can rock that shiznit.
This week I also stopped by Lou’s and got the new “Mad Mike Monsters” CDs that Norton put out. Some really good 60′s garage and r&b a lot of which I’ve never heard before. I suggest you check em out cause I think any lover of good rock n roll should have these CDs.
Well, my stop is coming up so I should wrap this up. The photo for this post was taken on my way to work. It’s a pretty sweet ride. I just wish the Coaster would lower their prices. Especially for round trip and monthly passes being as though you’re making a pledge to use the damn thing and should get a little brake ya know. If one way is $6.50 a round trip should be like $10 or $11 not $13. I know it costs money to run the thing, but a little break would be nice. Maybe even offer a half monthly pass. Then again I guess the new compass pass is kinda like that.
P.s. If there are any text in this post that is wacky it cause it’s hard to type when you’re swaying back and forth on the train even though the iPhone auto correct is pretty sweet. Haha
This past Wednesday I went to Disneyland with a few people from work. Kevin, Kristin, Ana, Jeremy, Skippy and Paige all went up to party for Ana’s birthday. Kevin, Kristin, Ana, Jeremy and I all drove up together. We stopped at the Original Pancake House on the way up cause Ana had to get her bacon pancakes. That’s right, bacon pancakes. What’s wrong with people. You don’t put bacon in pancakes. After i got us lost on the way there we stuffed our faces and onward to Disneyland we went. Right now they are having a 2fer for Southern California residence. You pay the price of one park but get to go to Disneyland and California Adventure. Sweet deal huh? So when we got into the park Skippy and Paige met up with us and surprised Ana cause she didn’t think they would get to go.
I normally start my trip to Disneyland with Pirates cause it’s tradition for me to go on POTC, Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones then Thunder Mountain. That is almost all the “E” ticket rides all in one area and you can kinda relax the rest of the day and take your time. This time we started with Space Mountain which was rad. The day was cloudy and cold so all the waits were no more than maybe 20 minutes. I think we rode Space Mountain 5 times that day, POTC 2 times and the rest a few times. All in all the day was pretty epic and even with the big group of people we had no one ever got bummed out. Disneyland is tough to do with big groups cause not everyone wants to go on the same ride and people start getting attitudes and such, but this time we all had a blast. I guess it helps when you know you can get on everything in one day.
I still need to get a new Annual Pass so i can go to the parks any time i want to. It’s nice to stop in for lunch on your way to LA.
so i got to hit up Disneyland with my buddy danielle yesterday and good times were had
sucks cause she now has to go back to Minnesota. i want her to stay here cause we always have so much fun together. thing i’m gonna go visit her in December even though it’s gonna be butt ass cold.
other than that, I’ve been way too fucking busy but hey, it’s the rockstar life. let’s see, djing at the zombie lounge every other Monday which is a blast cause i love playing the music i like for others and all my friends are there. just wanna thank Wendy for letting me do that.
thee corsairs are doing WAY more than i figured we’d be doing after taking a year off. just got to get the name back out there so people know we’re still around. gonna be writing and if all goes well recording new stuff so we can have a new album out in time for the Reverend Horton Heat show at House of Blues.
got family coming in to town on the 22nd i think. can’t wait cause we never get to hang out with them. well, maybe once a year but that’s it. i think we’re gonna go to Disneyland and maybe Mexico. hopefully i can get time off work for that.
i want to get a tattoo.
just got back from band practice. it’s the first one we’ve done with vocals and at full volume. god damn i forgot how good of a band we are. or something like that. i’m having lot’s of fun with this and i can’t wait for the fair. i’d like to ask our buddy adrian to join us full time, but i don’t know if he could or if he even would. it would rule to write some music with em. the great thing about it is that we don’t take it too seriously and aren’t out to get signed or anything. as long as we have fun and people enjoy it, that’s all that matters.
san jose was fun. was up there for a few days. wish i could of stayed a bit longer though. hopfully we can get our cousins down here for a little vacation. don’t really get to spend much time with them so that would be cool.
